Pregnancy

What should I think about before raising a child?

Lets talk about pregnancy... What is the best time to have a baby?
Becoming a parent is an important issue, and there are many things to think about. Everyone's situation is different, but the decision is personal, and only you know when you are ready.
Why do people decide to be parents?
Raising a child can be pleasing, rewarding and life changing; many parents say it is the best decision they have made. The bond of love you share with your children and the pride that your achievements produce can be truly satisfying.
To raise a child not only takes a lot of love, but also a lot of energy and patience. Your child's needs change constantly as he grows older. As a parent, your job is to realize what your child needs to have a happy, healthy life, and do their best to make it happen.
Raising a child can be easier if you have realistic ideas of what it means to be a parent.
Can I meet all my child's needs?
Although it can be a reason for enjoyment and satisfaction, raising a child is also very hard. Your children will depend on you for EVERYTHING, including your food, shelter, security, affection, love and guidance.
Ask yourself if you have what it takes to take care of a child, for example:
  • Time: Raising a child is a very important full time task, and can affect other plans and goals you have.
  • Energy and care: children need loving, patient and committed parents.
  • Planning: Raising a child requires day-to-day planning and long-term planning at all stages of your life.
  • Material objects and money: children need clothes, diapers, food, health care, day care, etc.
Parents must give up many things for their children, and meeting the needs of a child can be frustrating and challenging. People who raise children usually sleep less and do not have enough time for the things they need or want to do. Having a baby is expensive, and many people find that raising a child is hard from the economic point of view.
Most people do not realize the work that gives birth to a child until they experience it for themselves. Talking with other parents about the joys and struggles of raising a child can help you realize if you are prepared to do so.

When should I have a baby?

Although many people expect to recognize the "perfect time" to have a baby, the reality is that the moment will never feel totally perfect. But certain points in our lives are often better than others to become parents, such as when you know you can meet your child's needs and give them a loving and healthy home.
It is normal to have many different feelings about how prepared one is to take on the challenge of raising a child. Here are some points to think about:
  • Am I prepared to be fully responsible for all my child's needs?
  • Will I be able to raise my child in a safe and healthy environment?
  • Do I have the financial resources to raise a child now?
  • With whom will I raise my child? How will we share parenting?
  • How much support will I have from my family and friends?
  • What will it mean for my future to have a baby now?
  • How will having a baby affect my family now?
  • Is there anyone who pushes me to decide to have a child?
  • Am I ready to face pregnancy and birth?
  • Will I be able to take care of my health and get prenatal care to have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby?
Parenting is a lifelong commitment. So, no matter when you decide to have a child, you should have no doubt that it is what you want to do for a long time.

Great Advices For Having A Healthy Pregnancy.

How does pregnancy occur?

What are the tips for getting pregnant? For pregnancy to occur, the sperm needs to meet an egg.Pregnancy officially begins when a fertilized egg is implanted in the lining of the uterus.

How does pregnancy occur?

Pregnancy is a rather complicated process that has several steps. It all starts with sperm and an egg.
Spermatozoa are microscopic cells that are produced in the testicles .The sperm mixes with other fluids to form semen , which comes out of the penis during ejaculation . Millions and millions of sperm come out every time you ejaculate, but you only need 1 sperm to meet an egg to produce a pregnancy.

Ovules are lodged in the ovaries , and the hormones that control the menstrual cycle cause some eggs to mature every month. When the egg is mature, it means that it is ready to be fertilized by a spermatozoon. These hormones also make the lining of the uterus thick and fluffy, which prepares the body for pregnancy.
Approximately in the middle of the menstrual cycle, a mature ovum leaves the ovary - this is called "ovulation" - and travels through the fallopian tube to the uterus.

The egg remains there for about 12 to 24 hours, moving slowly through the fallopian tube in case there is any sperm in the vicinity.
If sperm enters the vagina, sperm swim through the cervix and uterus into the fallopian tubes in search of an egg. They have up to 6 days to find an egg before they die.
When a sperm is attached to an ovum, fertilization occurs. But fertilization does not happen immediately. Because sperm can remain in the uterus and fallopian tubes up to 6 days after having sex, up to 6 days may pass between intercourse and fertilization.
If a sperm is attached to an egg, the fertilized egg travels through the fallopian tube to the uterus. Then it begins to divide itself into more and more cells, and forms a ball as it grows. This ball of cells (called "blastocyst") reaches the uterus between 3 and 4 days after fertilization.
This ball of cells floats in the uterus for another 2 or 3 days. If it adheres to the lining of the uterus, this is called "implantation", and is when pregnancy officially begins.
The implantation usually begins around 6 days after the fertilization and takes 3 to 4 days to complete. The embryo develops from the cells inside the ball, and the placenta develops from the cells on the outside of the ball.
When a fertilized egg is implanted in the uterus, it releases pregnancy hormones that prevent the lining of the uterus from being expelled; that is why you do not have menstrual periods during pregnancy. If the egg does not meet a spermatozoon, or if a fertilized ovum is not implanted in the uterus, the thick lining of the uterus is not necessary and leaves the body during the menstrual period. Up to half of the fertilized ova does not become implanted naturally in the uterus, and are expelled from the body during the menstrual period.
What are the first symptoms of pregnancy? In many occasions, you have early symptoms of pregnancy, but there are those who do not have any.
The common signs and symptoms of pregnancy can be as follows:
  • Missing a menstrual period
  • Swelling or tenderness in the breasts
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Feeling tired
  • Swelling
  • Constipation
  • Urine more frequent than usual
Some early symptoms of pregnancy sometimes seem to be characteristic of some other common condition (such as premenstrual syndrome). The only way to know for sure if there is a pregnancy is through a pregnancy test . You can take a pregnancy test at home (with devices that are sold at drugstores or supermarkets), at your doctor's office or at the local Planned Parenthood Health Center .
How do multiple pregnancies happen?
There are 2 ways in which a multiple pregnancy can occur. Identical twins are formed when 1 already fertilized egg is divided into 2 separate embryos . Because the twins come from the same sperm and the same egg, they have the same genetic material (DNA) and look exactly the same.
Twins (or fraternal twins) develop when two separate ovules are fertilized by two separate spermatozoa, and both fertilized ova are implanted in the uterus. This can happen if the ovaries release more than one egg or during certain types of fertility treatments . The twins have completely different genetic material and, in general, do not look the same. This is the most common type of multiple pregnancy.

What is gestational age?

The term "gestational age" means, basically, how long you have been pregnant. Gestational age is counted from the first day of the last menstrual period (UPM).
Gestational age can be a bit confusing because it measures pregnancy from the last menstrual period, about 3 or 4 weeks BEFORE pregnancy occurs. It is considered that the pregnancy lasts 9 months, and it is certain that, generally, you will have a pregnancy of about that duration. But the way you measure your pregnancy makes it a little longer. A typical term pregnancy ranges from 38 to 42 weeks from the last menstrual period (about 10 months).
Many people do not remember the exact date of the last menstrual period, but there is nothing to worry about. The nurse or doctor can determine the gestational age by means of an ultrasound .
